Who We Are

The Veterans Helping Veterans (VHV) was organized in 2012. Mr. Lewis Jackson, with a passion to assist veterans and their families reached out to Herman Anderson, a college buddy, and a friend Wilhemenia Coffee. From there they began the conversation on which way to go. They attended a DAV meeting where they were introduced to Ms. Dottie Pridmore and Mr. Danny Pagan, two compassionate veterans and members of Snellville, Chapter 90 DAV. Ms. Pridmore is a National Service Officer for the DAV, that processes claims for the DAV, in the Veteran's Administration Office. The urge overwhelmed each of them to reach out to veterans near and far. They knew this vision was much larger than they could ever imagine, so they prayed and ask God to send people that had the same spirit and compassion as they did and immediately things began to happen. They were blessed with additional founding core members. Veteran members: Willie Jackson; Lovie Hobbs; Nate Boynton; Temple Woods; Charlene Moore; Dwight Rowe; Hugh Edwards; and D'Olivia Swain. Also a (non-veteran) Cathye Faye Davis, a friend of VHV, was instrumental in organizing this great organization. So through the help, wisdom, and understanding from all the individuals listed above came the birth of Veterans Helping Veterans.

We are a ALL-Volunteer organization whose mission is to promote building better lives for all of our nation's veterans and their families. We are a non-profit organization which receives 30% of its total funding from individual contributors like you who are so inclined. We need more help and support and every tax-deductible dollar you give helps us bring to our members a comprehensive range of professional services to homeless veterans and veterans in need. VHV respects and honors Women in the Military and proudly salute their service. We are an established organization in full and complete agreement with maintaining and building a steady growth of our organization's membership, while continuing to pursue our mission of providing strategic personal advocacy on behalf of all veterans seeking claims against the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. We are focused on the development of positive lifestyles for all veterans and their families.
